PepsiCo plans 3,300 layoffs globally

PepsiCo is planning a major , including rebranding products, eliminating 3,300 positions globally, and closing six plants. In a conference call to discuss the company’s third-quarter earnings, chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi outlined how PepsiCo expects to create $1.2 billion in pre-tax savings over the next three years to accommodate for the changes.

“At this time, it’s not known what the impact is,” for PR and communications, a PepsiCo spokesman told PRWeek. “It’s a global reduction and there are tough decisions that are being made in response to an unusually challenging environment.” Check back for future news about how the changes will affect the company’s PR and communications.
