Washington Post names reporters who accepted buyouts

PR professionals updating their contact lists for the Washington Post have some work to do.

The newspaper named many of the high-profile reporters and editors who have accepted the newspaper’s buyout package. The mass-buyout will cut the Post newsroom by more than 100, or 10%.

Aside from stars David Broder and Tony Kornheiser, who recently announced they were accepting deals, soon-to-be-former Post reporters include feature writers Linton Weeks and Peter Carlson; health reporter Laura Sessions Stepp; science reporter Rick Weiss; columnist Stephen Barr; and Weekend writers Richard Harrington and Eve Zibart.

Editors leaving the newspaper include Deborah Heard, Michael Keegan, Maralee Schwartz, Tony Reid, Belle Elving, KC Summers, Marie Arana, John Pancake, Peter Kaufman, Lynne Duke, and Rose Jacobius.
