Chictini, an interactive online shopping site where users can purchase and vote for their favorite items, provides fashion PR agencies with the opportunity to showcase emerging designer clients among both consumers and Chictini’s “6 to Bleecker” - resembling an online fashion magazine - editorial staff.
According to PR Couture, the site filters products that users want to recommend to the rest of the community. Members can submit an item to be voted on by users as either “chic” (positive) or “weak” (negative), and favored products are placed on a hot list are featured throughout the site.
When asked about the aspect of transparency regarding agencies posting designer collections, Bianca Levine, who does PR for the company, told PR Couture:
“…our group personally feels it would be best for an agency to create a profile specific to the designers that are managed by [the agency]. If a viewer likes a particular item that that specific profile posted, (which in this case would be a specific designer), they may want to see more of the collection from that designer by clicking ‘other items this profile has posted.’ This would help to expose more of that designer’s work and more importantly, build the brand.”
