‘Fake Steve’ Blogger Revealed
The came out with an article today that revealed the identity of the blogger behind fakesteve.blogspot.com, a site that attracted 50 e-mail responses a day and 700,000 visitors last month.
It turns out that Daniel Lyon, a senior editor at Forbes magazine, had been the mastermind behind the Apple mogul’s fake blog.
And this is what the Forbes‘ publisher had to say about it: “I think it is the most brilliant caricature of an important part of American culture that I’ve seen. We’re really proud that he’s one of ours,” as told to the Times.
The guessing game around his identity was intense, with speculation centering on a variety of plugged-in journalists, former Apple employees and even Mr. Jobs himself.
Well, there you go. Game’s over.
