The Cycle

Blogs in print

Bloggers and print journalists… their tense relationship has been discussed (and discussed and discussed), but, in fact, according to Cision’s latest research, print journalists at the top 20 national publications are turning to bloggers for material more and more. The study shows that, in the last five years, the number of times blogs and bloggers are mentioned in publications like Entertainment Weekly, Esquire, Financial Times, and the New York Times has increased over 16-fold; from 795 times in 2004 to 13,066 in 2008 (year ending June 30). PRWeek’s own media survey from earlier this year supports the trend.
