SCHIP battle continues

The tension between the legislature and White House over the federal health insurance program for children has only increased since we covered the issue in our pages. Yesterday the House passed a bill that would expand the program, despite President Bush’s veto threat. As The Washington Post points out, the Democrats have the wind at their back, with a number of powerful groups helping to push the bill, but not necessarily enough votes to overcome a veto.
