Crossed communications about Potter?

The film version of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been pushed back, from a November 2008 release to July 17, 2009. While Potter fans are upset at Warner Bros. for making them wait even more (we already know how the whole story ends, what’s a few more months for the movie version?), the editors at Entertainment Weekly have a slightly different reason to be annoyed. EW’s Aug. 22 issue, a fall movie preview, featured Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, on the cover, and a six-page spread about the upcoming film.

EW and Warner Bros. share a parent company, but they clearly do not share, you know, important friggin’ information,” wrote Sean Smith on EW’s Hollywood Insider blog (emphasis his). Luckily, EW is taking the surprise news in stride, touting the edition as a collector’s item.
