XBRL taxonomies in SEC hands

Today’s the day that the XBRL US consortium, which has been working hard on the taxonomies for XBRL business reporting, turns over its ideas to the SEC. As you might recall from this Newsmaker (sub req’d), Michelle Savage has been working hard to let people know this is happening. In a conversation late last week, she said the effort was shifting a bit now that the taxonomies have been submitted.

“We’re moving out of the project mode and into the education mode,” she said.

There will be Webinars, podcasts, and other information on the XBRL Web site to help people get acquainted with the new system.
