Yesterday Erica Iacono mentioned the New York Times about the growing demand of business class. Today the San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that other legacy carriers - American and United airlines — are revamping their business class offerings as well. In the Chronicle article Graham Atkinson, United’s senior vice president for worldwide sales, notes how competitive the business class market has become for legacy carriers:

“Business class is the battleground,” said Atkinson. “In the U.S. aviation industry, the 8 to 10 percent of passengers who fly internationally in business class generate 36 percent of revenue.”
