The Cycle

Fans fan

Baltimore Orioles fans have a new fan - me! On September 21, nearly 1,000 fans left the team’s game against the Detroit Tigers in unison. They were protesting team owner Peter Angelos. The club is in the midst of its ninth straight losing season, all under Angelos’ reign.

Kudos guys. So many disgruntled fans either call talk-radio shows or perform outlandish stunts that outshine their “cause.” These guys coordinated an effort right in the face of their enemy. It’s hard to ignore that.

Angelos responded to demonstration by saying, “Whoever joins that protest has no comprehension of what it costs to run a baseball team… To leave in the middle of the game is an abuse of the players who have worked hard and played their hearts out.”
